You can just google AQ3D Character Lookup and it leads to a character page without having to log in to the main website or to AQ3D. It would be nice that more features would be accessible through the game, but it doesn't seem to be AE's priority right now.

I would say it's worth it if you have a lot of play time on your account.

  4. I think anyone would stick to their name, if they feel confident about it or if the name has meaning to them, and that's generally how a lot of players feel. People don't generally choose a bad name just to change it later, but usually I see name changes being more likely, if it's a name that they're more likely to regret, or if they're just indifferent and have money to burn. Things players might regret would be:
    - Having numbers or extra letters in the name (e.g. xXPlayer_42Xx)
    - Having a name that is likely to fall out of trend (e.g. TheLegend27)
    - Having a name that has been associated with controversy (maybe you named yourself after some role model and it backfired)
    - Having a very long name
    - Having a name that people mistype easily or don't really understand
    - Having a misspelled name, maybe they rushed at typing the name or they didn't know that there was a right spelling
    - Having a name that they've always wanted being purged or deleted, so then they can change their name to that name

That's just a handful of reasons. But most cases, the majority of players stick to the name that they have.

Yeah, there certainly are many factors to you keeping a name or changing it. There also are names which are meant to be jokes or have some cleaver wording. Like have a name that is a pun or a sentence for example.

  6. Depending on the name, names as jokes don't usually last well, especially contemporary jokes that are likely to fade away. I think there are some names worth keeping, but the names would really have to shine and stay relevant. Otherwise, people wouldn't really understand the joke or its context. It's pretty much the same thing as "having a name that is likely to fall out of trend."

I suppose so but that doesn't really stop people from using them nor changing them.

  8. Everyone's different, so they'll have some ranging level of preference on their own username. And even if they dislike their name but don't want to change it, there could be other reasons why (like maybe they think their DCs could be better spent elsewhere). It's just a different situation for everybody.

Yeah, knowing that there more DCs in game and it's not solely just about you having to pay your own money to get DCs to get a name change.

  10. I think that would influence free players especially, because they would probably want to be wise with their decisions since their only way of earning DCs is through ads and chests. Players that buy DCs will just spend as they wish, because those are the players less likely to 'budget' anything, though there are some players that buy DCs that are careful at what they spend them on.

Players who treasure their DCs are definitely the ones who are making budgets and making a name change or a possibility of it is something to think about.

  12. Of course, the players could also intentionally farm DCs via ads and earn more DCs, if they only have one method of earning it via chests, though they still might keep their DCs because its a valuable resource. I'd estimate about a year to earn 5,000 DCs, and that already takes a long time. It's enough for a collection, so it'd be understandable why players wouldn't want to spend it on anything else such as a name change, even if they earned more than they expected during any given day. It's sort of like the DCs are future-proofing for when something good shows up, and a name isn't really something to be concerned about unless it's a very unique name that you can treasure.

Players who stack up on DCs through daily treasure chests and ads are less likely to use them on a name change compared to players who just buy DCs. It's not a bad idea to stock up on them because that enables you to get anything that costs DCs to buy that you fancy.

  14. I think it's odd that people do daily rewards for DCs just to not spend them. Like some people have over 5,000 DCs from ads and/or chests, and they haven't spent it on anything yet. I feel like the value of DCs makes it seem like any player is less likely to spend them on anything, even though DCs exist just to be spent. Maybe at 20,000 DCs, people would feel a little confident to spend the DCs more, but it would take maybe four years to get that amount.

People like to see numbers go up and keep them high as well.

  16. I think at some point, the player would think enough DCs is enough, and finally spend it, but at what capacity? I don't think any reasonable player (free player or paid player) would even have something insane as 100,000 DCs just to not to spend it on anything in the near future. For me, if I really wanted a name change and I started out just being a free player, I'd save up till maybe 2,000 DCs, so then I'd have a name change and 1,100 DCs leftover for whatever else in case. I wouldn't go as far as 5,800 DCs, even though it would be more safe since you'd have 4,900 DCs left over which can be used on a single collection.

The urge to use DCs does rise as the amount of them rises. You get to afford more items and opportunities to spend them open up. A name change will eventually become just a little amount DCs compared to your total amount of DCs if you keep saving them up.

I love my IGN and I'm pretty sure i will never change it. The name has stuck with me for over 5 years through multiple games and has become part of my gaming identity. It does get difficult for some people to type or pronounce at times but i dont mind the little trouble because of the connection i have developed with it.

Same I’ve used Scoobz well it started with the full name at first an got shorter down the years but also go bu another name as well but the name is taken in game which I was gutted so I would been called something else if it wasn’t taken but Scoobz wasn’t even though I tried for Scooby but that’s always taken. I can’t modify the other name by changing a letter where as scooby you can change many letters.

15years ago I started my online mmo career if you can call it that lol game was Guild Wars 1 an always loved mmos name was scoobydooby doo I am even famous on that game I’m on there official wiki to get this item drop as first person. Funny thing is it wasn’t my drop it was someone else I was just so rich I bought it if the guy instantly as he didn’t know what he had nor did anyone else but I did an book Scooby Goes Afk was the toon was posted on wiki. Also played battlefield 2 on pc back then with Scoobydoobydooo so it’s a dated name for me lol.
