He isn't that hard to play as he is hard to understand. Main thing you have to know about twisted fate is that he is not assassin which means you don't get to one shot people on equal level of feed/farm. He is pusher, so on laning phase, all you have to do is to spam q with the occasional blue card (until jungler gives you blue buff, when you can just spam q). By farming you automatically win matchup cuz your passive gives you more gold than he can generate. Of course, if your enemy is stupid enough to swallow your qs, you might have opportunity to finish him.

Yeah you don't have to follow meta but most of the people i played with follow meta even know they don't know to play champs that are in meta
Meta is overrated...You should just play whatever you feel like playing....I never really followed meta,I just play whatever I want to play in that moment ..
