Spam or Canned Ham?

We may end up getting more mods for that forum. Could even be a few of the current crop of new members eventually.

 

Yes, newer members overall need a little more seasoning before put in an established position. However, some new members excel right at the beginning and keep it up. It mainly depends on how each member handles the opportunity. Talk and ideas are fine, but they need to be backed up.

Looks like this is about the most understood term on the Internet lol. The varying definitions are surprising.

Since I am a site owner, I know exactly how damaging spam or even the perception can be. Thus, somebody can think something is spam when it is not and then constantly refer to it as spam. They may not mean anything by it, but it can hurt the perception of a site or forum.

For the record, my view of spam is stuff like ads, pure gibberish, or the same exact thing posted many times in like a few minutes. Repeating others post word-for-word can be spam. Of course, we have deleted and safe guarded against obscene text and pictures and all the taboo stuff that is not part of a game forum.

Real spam can cause serious problems and hurt sites. However, everything is not real spam. Maybe we need a new term for low quality posts or something lol. Anyway, just think spam is an abused term. Not going to get mad at everybody who says it or brings it up etc, but please do not paint the forum with it because you are frustrated with the number of low quality posts in a certain area. Instead, ask myself or a mod what can be done to improve it. Anyway, just giving my two cents on this lovely subject lol.
