    It's how MMOs work these days, announcement -> hype -> release -> large numbers -> plow through content -> bored -> move on to next announcement and repeat.

    I think MMOs are kinda caught in a war right now. Developers either make a bunch of simple content and the player base has a lot to do but it's easy to get bored... or you make a bunch of good content but it's not enough and you can't produce it faster than the playerbase devours it.

    I think this is where games like Neverwinter, Star Trek Online and Everquest Next have it right... let the community make content. The development studio would never be able to afford to hire the amount of people needed to keep up with demand for years and years... so just hand out the tools and let the community fill in the gaps for you and for free! The content isn't always great but sometimes it can be really good, I hope more games take this route.
