New map and Fjord encounter mode
    source:FTR
from the Megafactories National Geographic video, we’ve been able to glean two facts so far (thanks to T__A from US forums for this). First, Wargaming is working on some kind of Pacific Island map (nicknamed Mt.Bvoma)

Furthermore, there is apparently a plan for Fjord Encounter:

    Stay tuned for more :)

T29 tank – possible mantlet changes

    Source: The_Chieftain’s Facebook page

    Hello everyone,

looks like we have some changes upcoming in the T29 Heavy mantlet. For those who don’t remember, the T29 mantlet looks currently like this:

Yesterday, Chieftain managed to quickly visit the Fort Benning base, where the real life T29 is located to do some measurements. Here are a few pictures of the event, as published on his Facebook page (go ahead and “like†it, lots of interesting stuff there):
As you can see from the photos, the mantlet is significantly thinner than it is in the game. According to Chieftain’s post on US forums:

As to T29/34/30 mantlets, the gun area appears to be about 10″, and within 5″ of the gun thins down to 8″ where it stays. The only thicker areas are the ‘wings’ and ‘overhangs’ at the top and bottom, which are a good foot thick but will merely frame the mantlet.

Based on that statement, here’s a drawing from FaustianQ (US forum) on how it might actually look like in milimeters:
Well, at least that’s what Chieftain measured. Whether this will be implemented into the game (or when) is not known. It is possible the developers will take the same route with T29 like they did with the Tiger – they might nerf the armor and offset it with something else. I am not well versed in US tanks, but what I think happened is that the original 279mm were taken from Hunnicutt’s book (as it was projected for the tank to have the mantlet this thick). That’s the reason this might actually go both ways and T29 might stay as it is.

Russian Q&A with developers from WG, done by EU player Silentstalker, on his blog "For the Record"

    - Q: “Why is it possible to actually destroy a tank by shooting it in its commander’s copula?†A: “It’s possible to destroy a tank by a shell penetration, by the penetration of shell fragments or by fragments of its own armor in the area behind armor. Commander’s copula provides direct access for the shells and their fragments to the area behind armor. So the logic is there. It’s like to complain that a house is also accessible via chimney, not just via door. It’s possible – not easy, bot possibleâ€.
    - regarding the above question, when asked how come parts that do not provide such access (such as AC48 rangefinder) do cause vehicle damage too: “Well, the tracks don’t repair in real life 6 seconds either, in real life the barrel can bend when crashing into trees… you know what I meanâ€

    - SU-100Y has two AP shells. The AP shell with increased power (gold shell) loses the penetration a bit faster over distance than the regular one, but the difference is negligible
    - HESH shells in WOT are simply HE shells with increased penetration
    - SerB states that the Vbaddict site map winrate statistics are “very far†from the truth
    - SerB states that the LFP of King Tiger COULD have been 120mm on some pieces, WG decided that the 100mm “paper value†is “more correctâ€
    - there is no data on a King Tiger (E-75) turret, that could hold the 105mm L/100
    - there are enough ideas in WoT for 10 major (0.8.0, 0.9.0 etc.) patches
    - about time limits: WoT is limited by appearance of smoothbores, WoWp is limited to the first generation of jets, WoWs is limited to the point when battleships lost their importance, eg. roughly the same time period
    - SerB has not watched the “Megafactories†show on WG yet

    - Veider: there will be a new award (Top Gun, Confederate style) for damage done in battle: top damagers (under certain conditions) in the losing team will recieve the same amount of credits and XP as if they won
    - Sniper medal will be significantly reworked
    - apparently, older collision models of suspensions will be reworked to feature a “hole†in the middle, like this:
    - Sturer Emil will not recieve a better stock gun (“And what tank you can’t penetrate with 169mm on tier 7? Stop smoking that alreadyâ€)
    - no plans for destructable (changeable) terrain for now
    - Havok will bring destructable spaced armor (parts of it torn off)
    - only some tanks will have optional hulls

Tanitha (SEA server) on roaming punishment: “Its likely or at least possible that any rule violations on a non home server, will result in the roaming feature of the player being switched off permanntly. Breaking the rules on another server, isn’t a good option.â€
