    The lastest is 11.10, the next version 12.04 LTS (Long Term Support)(Supported with bug fixes and security patches for 60 months vs 18 for normal releases) will be releasing in April.

    Ubuntu 11.04 introduced Unity which is the current default desktop environment (it's the one with the side bar). All releases 11.10 and after will come with Unity exclusively, you can install other ones but Unity is the default going forward. The desktop you used in version 9.04 or 9.10 was GNOME 2, GNOME 2 has since been replaced with GNOME 3 much to the hatred of many Linux users as it's a pretty big change and the devs completely killed off GNOME 2.

    Linux is about choice, if you can't stand Unity and really want that GNOME 2 style desktop back, Linux Mint is working on one called Cinnamon it's gonna take a while to get all the kinks worked out but it can already be used in Mint 12.

    Personally I find Unity to be the best option for me as it's being tightly integrated with Ubuntu and unlike GNOME 3 is still sorta similar to the traditional desktop. Cinnamon looks nice but I really like where Ubuntu is going.

    I'm waiting on Ubuntu 12.04 as previous versions have a driver issue, once Alpha 2 hits it's going on the HDD.

    If you cannot play Rakion because the launcher says something like, 'Can't run game. Please re-install the game.' this is most likely because of your anti-virus.

    Disable your anti-virus and then try to play the game.
    If this doesn't work, after disabling your anti-virus, try clicking the 'recover file' button. This should(hopefully) solve the problem.
