With the recently launched open beta stage of the Wargaming Developer Partner Program, lots of developers from amongst our active community have taken the opportunity to access the vast amount of data available for Wargaming’s titles and services to create apps, mods or add-ons for World of Tanks. Many of those apps are helpful, informative, of very high quality or just plain fun and we would like to introduce you to some of the best.The first app we decided to put under the spotlight is the “Knowledge Base for WoT†by Evgenii Bryl’. After downloading this app you will have all the most essential World of Tanks information in the palm of your hand! The most relevant information provided by the app is:

Detailed tank specifications
Statistics of all in-game modules
Maps
Achievements
Skills
The application is designed to work offline and is available both in English and Russian.



We’ve managed to get hold of the application developer and ask him several questions:

How did you start creating apps?

Android launched the development of applications about 3 years ago. I'd been working in web development for 4 years by then and I was bored. I decided to change my specialisation: Mobile apps began to gain popularity. Around that time I bought my first mobile phone with the Android platform. The first application was for a loan calculator for promoters of a Ukrainian bank.

How did you come up with the idea for Knowledge Base for WoT?

The idea came out of the blue, late at night, when I came across some websites with similar information about tanks. At that time I had a lot of free time in the evenings and a strong desire to spend this time on something. I briefly checked the Google Play site and noticed that there were no equivalents for Android, and if I and another friend created it we would be the first ones. It's always easier to be the first.

Any tips on where to start if you are new to the Developer Partner Program and you have an idea for an app?

The basic principle, in our opinion, is quality. Any idea can be buried as an unknown by users if it wasn't created as a top quality product with a sophisticated sense for details. The dialogue with the User is another thing to mention. These people help us to find problems, which would never be found on your own. It is extremely important for the project at its early stage of development.

What is your favourite tank in the game?

Mine is the American T1 Heavy, my colleague’s – the Soviet Т-54.
