The Working Parts has released a demo for their upcoming adventure-platformer Residue. The game has been under development for 3 years now with a full release expected soon. The demo is available through Desura, and if you enjoy the game be sure to support it on Steam Greenlight.

Residue is an intelligent, story-driven 2D platform adventure in which you control three different characters, exploring an abandoned excavation site in the remains of the Aral Sea in present-day Uzbekistan. Once the fourth largest lake in the world, the Aral Sea is now an arid wasteland, a victim of decades of Soviet cotton irrigation. To some, it is the prime example for humanity to stay out of nature’s business. To others, it’s a world waiting to be saved.

 

Game developer Pawel Mogila announced that he plans to have his 2D horror platformer, Grimind, out by the middle of December.

“Finally Grimind development comes to the end,†Mogila wrote in his developer’s blog. “I finished all 15 chapters added 15 secret places (each level [has] one). Finding all secrets unlocks [an] alternate way to end the game. This could be [a] great option to integrate Steam achievements if the game gets into Steam.â€

Pre-orders for Grimind are currently being taken, on the official website. Pre-ordering the game gets buyers instant access to the game’s beta, and if Grimind gets approved through Steam Greenlight, Steam keys will be distributed to game owners.

Grimind is set to feature physics-based puzzles where every dynamic object can be dragged, carried, or thrown. The protagonist doubles as the game’s narrator, commenting on the way of things as the player progresses through the game.
A demo is available on the official website for anyone interested in trying out the game before its mid-December release.

I find I'll play it in huge bursts, and then stop for a long time. I recently started again, trying out different mods, but had some trouble getting them to work properly.
