Hello, Uber-Heroes!

Well, the 2nd Round US vs EU Occupational War Event is finished, and we would like to extend our congratulations to our service's players for their STELLAR VICTORY!

Despite the issues (which I'll address at the end of this post) this Event setting was a great improvement on the first one, and you can be sure the next will be the best yet!

We have some prizes to be awarded, they will be awarded automatically by the development team during our next scheduled maintenance February 6th. What are the prizes, you might ask? I'm happy to tell you, so here they are in a handy list form!

The Sad Section

In other news, there were some problems in this Event that forced action from us and provoked some drama. Before going into detail, let me express my perspective on things. Integrity is a big deal to me, and I expect people to not only know what the word means, but to use it. That is my problem, not yours, but it is the source of a great deal of frustration when managing games when it's how you do things.

So, when problems arise in a special Event, something designed specifically to help folks be happy and have fun and not as a source of income for the people running the game, I would really expect that some people will report such a thing when they find out about it. That they would take it upon themselves to consider how helpful and outgoing I am, and try to help me help you guys have a better time. I feel that is not an unreasonable expectation, personally.

Anyhow, we had 2 different "bugs" (call them what you like, exploits is perhaps a better term) to speak of duing the event, one of which resulted in player accounts being reset after the first day of fighting. For the record, not banning players from this Event over such obvious abuse of a game issue is something I felt would be appreciated by those who were not banned and only got reset as a direct result. I was, in large part, wrong about that.

So the 2 problems were as follows:

1) Item Shop issue with Friend Megaphone items.

This problem was enormous, and in the course of a few hours dramatically increased the overall amount of gems in the game by millions, literally. This sharp increase is a thing to behold, and some of you bought more than 9,000 of those buggy items to strengthen all your gear on your plane to 9, then up to 3 sets of "back up" gear to 9 as well. Due to this, the decision was made that some action had to be taken to curb not only the influx of gems people were stockpiling, but also to remove the items that were purchased with all of those ill-gotten gains.

If it matters, I'm sorry that such a thing was possible and was there to be exploited in the first place. I understand that none of you actually bugged them yourselves, but as stated before I have a very strong opinon on the subject of integrity. If you choose not to use it, then I cannot feel sorry for you when bad decisions turn into consequences.

I would have announced the adjustments (resets) to everyone before they occurred, but there were 3 different plans from GameUS on a solution to the problem and I had no way to know which one would actually occur. By the time they got everything finalized and determined, Frosty was passed out sitting up on the couch and it was nearly 5am my time. You have my unending apologies really, but I was in game alot after it happened to talk to folks and try to un-ruffle feathers as much as I could, not much else really I can say about that.

2) PvP Rooms issue(s) (Passwords, F5s and Multi-Clients)

I won't go into as much substance for this topic; the exploits were easy to do, everyone knew what was going on, and I had absolutely no way to stop it from happening.

Suffice it to say that the PvP schema and setup for the next Event will be alot different than this time. No passwords will be allowed, and kill rates/death times are likely to be tracked to catch folks doing such things and auto-boot them or simply not allow them to get any rewards for their nefarious efforts.

Multi-clienting is an unsolvable problem perhaps, due to the nature of networking and the fact that many times multiple folks from one home or net cafe will be playing HIS simultaneously. However, people playing against themselves in an effort to gain an advantage over those who can't do such things is, again, a question of integrity at the end of the day.

Calling All Guilds!

Tired of all the trash talk about whose guild is better than whose? Well time to strut your stuff on the battleground and show
those chumps that your guild is the top boss. This is the first of many Guild Assault events to come and we want you
to come out and show us what you have.

Date and Time
January 23rd -24th: Sign-Up for Guild Assault

January 25th: Guild Assault contestants will be posted

January 30th:
4:00-6:00pm Guild Assault for Elmer

January 31st :
10:00-12:00pm Guild Assault for Excelsior

Eligibility
Any guild can participate!

Registration
Only one guild from each race per server may participate for this event.
Registration is first come first serve on the forums(don’t worry if you can’t register first, there will be several more guild events
coming up in the future, so this isn’t your last chance to participate in a guild event). Guild Registration will be from
January 23rd – January 24th. Please have one person register your guild with the following information:

1. Guild Name
2. Guild Leader’s IGN and current level
3. Server
4. Bellato, Cora, Accretia

Only 8 members of your guild will participate, so choose wisely on who will represent your guild! Qualifying

Please remember that only eight members from your guild are allowed to participate. Please have back-ups available just in case
someone from the team doesn’t show up.

Rules
Each guild will have to battle two other guilds. Each round will last until all 8 members of a guild are killed. If both
guilds are standing after 10 minutes, the team with the most members wins that round. If each guild is left
with the same number of people after 10 minutes, the guild with the lowest average level wins.

Meeting Spot
On the date of your server’s Guild Assault, participants will meet a GM at the Crag Mine with the registration fee
of $100,000,000 racial currency. Upon receiving the registration fee, the GM will teleport the Guild to the
battleground where they will await further instruction for battle.

Prize
A GM will summon a special Pitboss for the winning guild to take down for loot.

Launchers, MAUs, and Animus are allowed.
Chargers and Potions are allowed.
Healling and rebuffing are allowed.
Runes are allowed (although escape rune will count towards automatic disqualification)
No reviving allowed.
No Elven Weapons or blessing allowed.
No jades allowed.
You may have to face other teams of your same race, so try to have some Chaos pots in hand.
Each team must consist of players of their own faction.
No Hissy Potions.
