Hitman is the only game I played where there's a movie crossover.

Im kinda confused. Most movies-games started with movie first. I'll just say dota 2 as obviously it was a game first. Haha

LOTR is not originally a game. It's a novel. Back to topic, best for me is Silent Hill. No other game based movie could beat it.

  6. I will say, Wreck-It Ralph wasn't too bad of a movie. But I think it's because the movie doesn't center around a specific game (like how most people are thinking about what this thread is mainly about), but rather incorporates ideas from various (arcade) games to build the plot. The other reason is that the movie doesn't try to be a live action movie like some video game-based movies have been lately.

Whenever people hear about a movie of a specific game, their expectations are usually high; for instance, when the Sonic movie was announced, people kept criticizing Sonic's design, so there tends to be high expectations for the main protagonist and the encompassing themes. Personally, I don't care too much for most live action movies.
