I've never been scammed, it's just not something you'll catch me out with. But I have helped other players that got scammed and gotten some support for them in game.

People are greedy and greed can lead to scamming schemes.

Scamming is unfortunate. Best way to solve it is contact customer support.

If the scam is your fault by being stupid, the customer service can't do anything at all. What you can do maybe just inform other player about the scam method so there won't be a another "stupid" victim. Or you can just do nothing and make a circle of scammed players lol

Report and warn other players. Both.

  17. I don't think it's about 'stupidity', but more about lack of judgment or sometimes even fear. Even the cleverest scammers get away with things (you see it happen in tech support scams all the time).

A lot of kids get scammed, and even adults, sometimes in more clever ways than people would realize. It's pretty obvious that you should never share your password, but I think the dirtiest scam I've seen is the scammer asking you to change your e-mail to their e-mail, and convincing you that doing so would award you something (such as virtual currency). What often happens is that they use the victim's e-mail to reset the password, and it's oftentimes the worst situation since the victim won't have any method of recovery.

Sometimes certain games warn you never to share your password, but I wish they would do more to warn about things that aren't so obvious.

Not much you can do but report and tell others not to fall for it

  19. It would probably be obvious to other players if someone was scamming them. But the one thing not to do is to interact with the person. Sometimes you can escalate the issue and make it worse, and sometimes you'll get in trouble for interacting with a scammer. For instance, trying to reverse-scam them or even pretend to accept their offer and giving them fake information could lead to punishment to both you and the scammer, even though you might have intended to prank them as some sort of payback or as a way to waste their time. Usually the issue is that game moderators don't know exactly who started scamming, even though they might have timestamps (but sometimes timestamps are recorded the moment someone's reported, not the moment when someone started scamming), so it's hard to tell who the suspect is and both the scammer and the interactee share the punishment.
