Little tip about your bear, now that you got your first heavy, it would be wise to learn a thing or two about angling your tank. An angled KV1 is a KV1 that opponents ding non stop - this is cause when you angle your tank, your effective armor increases due to the shell having to go through more of the armor plate than it would have if it hit it straight.

so basically, in KV1, never position yourself like |_| , instead go for /_/

About the germans, up to tier 5 they are very mobile Pz IIIa, Pz III, Pz III/IV, but the guns are not so great, they are not snipers (low pen and accuracy). Tier 6 are less mobile, but you get guns that have good pen and dmg, tier 7 (panther) has very good pen and accuracy but have the same dmg as a tier 6 medium. Tier 8 Panther II has 5mm better pen than Panther, but it has much higher dmg per shoot and its more mobile. Tier 9 E50 great dmg and accuracy, not so good pen and mobility, and as for tier 10 E50M every thing is great.

There is the other line which leads to Leopard 1, but i didnt play any tanks from that line.

KV1 is good but when he is not that good in tier 7 battles, as T28 is in tier 6.
Ps. I told you so (T28 is the best. XD)

I've been reading to do that, thanks for the tip though. :)

Noticed that, it's gonna make the grind fun lol... D:

Indeed, Tier 7 battles are quite scary. I think I faced a few tier 8's too... is that even possible? I don't know, I've had terrible luck thus far in the KV-1 matchmaking wise... not complaining per-say but wow, have done like 9 battles or so and 6 of them have been tier 7. Is this normal?

T28 I don't mind the tier 6 battles that much, except when my team gets steamrolled, then it gets quite scary because pretty much everyone can one shot me lol.

Well actually, all heavies have a problem when matched with 2 tiers up, more problems than other tank types. TD and arty guns still work at +2 tiers, med mobility still works at +2 tiers as does light, heavy's armor and guns usually do not work at +2 tiers, and then they're very much so screwed

And no it's not possible to run into a tier 8 tank with a tier 5 anymore, used to be possible (old tier 5 KV would go to tier 9 battles, rest of tier 5 only up to tier 8). The only way to see one is to platoon with someone playing a tier 6 or higher, since platoon gets matched according to the highest tiered tank in it.

As for getting in 6 out of 9 tier 7 battles, that was just bad luck really

    That makes sense.

Ok I went over to the Wiki, I see what happened now. I thought I read T28 but it was a T29.

    Ok

USA have T28 too, it's tier 8 TD. And about MM WG like to ruin peoples life by putting them, while they are stock, in +2 battles. I was going with my Vk3001h with stock gun (110mm of pen) in tier 8 battles all the time. Litterary all the time.

Yeah that's the one, I thought I read T28 which is as you said is tier 8 but it was actually T29 which is tier 7. :) Yeah today my luck hasn't been much better, if it's not tier 7, it's tier 6 with a bad team and like the worst possible matchups. Still enjoying the tank though, it's gotta be said after using the T-28 with paper armor, it's really satisfying being able to take hits with little to no damage at times. :D

Any opinions on the Churchill III? I'm looking at it to train Soviet Heavy crews and gain some credits along the way. IS-6 is really the only other option premium wise but it's quite a bit more and I don't really want to jump to tier 8, idk thoughts?

I dont know what to tell you, you will not get much more credits than regular tier 5 tank. Churchill III is slow, you can penetrate it easy (just go for the turret), and it has low penetration, but you have limited tier, a lot of HP, and gun that will ruin tanks which dont have that much armor. I would buy it, but i dont have it so dont listen to me. XD
Fox has it so listen to him. XD

Ok cool, I think I'm like destined to buy this tank. It just happened to show up in Let's Test your knowledge, it just happened to go on sale today and the sale price works out perfectly with my plan. :D

and it just happened you've got someone that actually wrote a whole guide about it right here on the forums :p

I'll never forget my first game with that tank though. Live oaks, tier 5 game, plenty of tier 5's on both side, I go into the city, the entire rest of my team goes the other way. In the city I run into no less than 7 enemies, most of them tier 5 heavies and meds. I dealt 2000+ damage, got 4 kills and damaged a few more before they finally managed to destroy me.

The game was lost with the result 4:15 in the end...

Yes! I meant to write that as well :)

I'll probably pick it up tomorrow, still trying to decide what I want to get as my "freebie" tank. Figured spend the extra $1 or whatever over the minimum and then have enough to get two for the price of 1. Unfortunately the choices aren't exactly awesome (Tier 5 wise Matilda IV, T14).

T14 is not really bad, but it's bad if you don't know where to aim, it's a tank which you can take advantage of if you have many games played and lots of experience.
There are other options though, for example that british tier 5, I keep forgetting its name and can't be bothered to look it up now, I call it Excalibur xD , and it really seems like an interesting tank to get.
Also, you can look at tier 4 as well, Valentine II that I got right here on GO is awesome, it's a heavy tank disguised as a light, and it gets to play only against tanks of its tier, which is quite neat actually :)

Yeah I'm very intrigued by the excalibur... that's a good nickname for it xD but it's not on sale, I'll be getting a 1500 gold package, churchill is on sale for 750 right now so the second has to be 750 or less as well. If the excalibur was on sale I'd definitely jump on it.

Valentine II is very interesting, I didn't know it was locked to tier 4... which makes it even better :D Will have to do more research... your not making this any easier lol.

If you going for german mediums, i would get T-25 if i were you (i have it and its good). Its agile like KV1, but on the straight line its very fast gun is good for tier 5 medium.

    You can see details here.

Yeah its always good to get a Premium tank that can fit with your other tanks. Meaning, you can stick existing crews in them. You have KV1 so Churchill is perfect
